The Perils of Opiates By John

THE PERILS OF OPIATES The twilight engenders loneliness, harbinger of wicked fantasies, eliciting images of Erebus. Pain overwhelms mind and body, exacerbating a very tenuous recovery from the ravages incurred by a twist of fate. Lamenting my state of despair, surrender is what I choose to do. OxyContin, rapturous heroin in a pill, fills my veins with a floating euphoria. Opiates for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Percocet, Vicodin, Darvocet and coffee, infuse my bedridden existence, advancing a depraved dependency. Tormented by demonic delusions, excruciatingly they summon me, seeking to devour my soul.
